How to Get Rid of Blackheads Around Lips

Acne is a condition that commonly affects the facial areas. The condition is caused by oils on the skin clogging pores. The oil causes whiteheads or blackheads, w/c are referred to as pimples. Several people use oils or lipsticks on the lip area that can cause these acne formations on the upper or lower lip line. Just like other areas of the face, these pimples can be prevented and treated by using natural methods and medications and avoiding certain skin-care products.

  • Wash your face regularly w/ warm water and mild facial soap. Ensure you to wash the areas of the lip to remove excess oils. People who suffer from acne should wash their face 2 to 3 times a day.
  • Leverage over-the-counter medications that contain benzoyl peroxide. Use the gel or cream daily around the lips. Benzoyl peroxide dried the skin from the oils, destroys bacteria and causes the skin to peel. This removes the dead skin cells and provides the area to heal.
  • Purchase tea tree oil from your local vitamin or natural food store. According to the University of Michigan, this natural oil is effective against acne. Its activity in treating lip acne is slower, but it is good overall as a potent treatment.
  • See your dermatologist for severe infection or acne breakouts. A dermatologist can prescribe antibiotics for infections or medications such as Retin-A or Accutane. These medications are applied to dry the oils in the skin and treat mild to severe acne breakouts around the lips or on the face or other areas of the body.
