How to Get Rid of Blackheads on Cheeks

Blackheads can come anywhere on the skin, including on your cheeks. Blackheads are caused by your pores becoming impacted w/ oil, sebum and bacteria, w/c darken and a result of exposure to the air. Blackheads can be difficult to remove because they don't usually come to a head like acne pustules. Luckily, blackheads can be eliminated from your cheeks by flushing your skin with a purgative oil, scrubbing off the dead skin cells that can cause your pores to become clogged, and applying a toner high in vitamin C to promote skin cell turnover.

• Flush out your pores. Apply a purgative oil that will not clog your pores, such as castor oil. Castor oil is non-comedogenic, and will bond to the oils, sebum, and bacteria in your skin, enabling them to be flushed out more easily. Spread 1 tsp. of castor oil onto your cheeks, and use your fingertips to massage the oil in deeply. After two minutes, fill a bowl with steaming hot water, and lean 12 to 18 inches over the water. Place a towel over your head, which will cause the steam to billow onto your cheeks. The steam will open up your pores, allowing the oil and the impurities to flush out. After 5 to 7 minutes, lift up your head and wipe off the oil w/ a washcloth.

• Scrub off dead skin. Use a gentle, natural scrub, such as baking soda, so that will not irritate or damage your skin. Mix together 1 tsp. of baking soda with 1 tsp. of water to form a loose paste. Spread the paste onto your cheeks and use your fingertips to gently massage the baking soda onto your cheeks using circular movements. After two minutes, rinse off your skin with warm water.

• Increase skin cell turnover by applying a toner that's high in vitamin C, such as concentrated lemon juice. Fill an empty spray bottle w/ concentrated lemon juice, and spray your cheeks thoroughly after it has been flushed and scrubbed. Allow the lemon juice to dry onto your skin.
